About The Position

In this role, you will support one of Arctiq’s clients in building an SRE Center of Excellence (CoE), working alongside other SRE leaders to establish standards, release discipline, and a consistent operating model across application teams. With Dynatrace already in place, the focus is on improving application reliability throughout the release lifecycle. You will define reliability standards, embed them into pipelines and Dynatrace, and work with teams through release and on-call. The SRE team will own SLOs, production readiness, release gates, reliability practices, and incident follow-through, while the Observability CoE and Platform teams continue to own observability standards and agent deployment.

Requirements

  • Strong SRE and reliability engineering experience, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, production readiness, and DORA metrics.
  • Hands-on Dynatrace experience, including RUM, services, synthetics, SLOs, alerting, dashboards, and distributed tracing.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, GitLab or similar tools, Infrastructure as Code, release controls, and automated reliability checks.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, APIs, client-server architectures, and blue-green or similar deployment strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of change management, incident response, on-call practices, ServiceNow, and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience embedding reliability practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle, from development through production.
  • Proven ability to lead engineers or SRE practices, establish standards, and drive adoption across application teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, application owners, and business stakeholders.
  • An outcome-focused approach with experience managing clear milestones, deliverables, ownership, and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Sit with two or three application teams in a wave, leaving behind templates for tags, a small set of service-level objectives, synthetics, and a dashboard.
  • Define reliability standards, embed them into pipelines and Dynatrace, and work with teams through release and on-call.
  • Define SLOs, production readiness, release gates, reliability practices, and incident follow-through.
  • Start from a user journey, define service-level indicators, set a target and a time window, and track the error budget.
  • Build objectives in Dynatrace as code for consistency between non-production and production environments.
  • Display compliance, burn rate, and status in a readable format for owners and executives.
  • Page on error-budget burn, not on every latency spike, routing alerts through Dynatrace to ServiceNow with a runbook link.
  • Implement production readiness in the delivery pipeline, ensuring synthetic tests pass, reliability baselines are maintained, and rollback has been tested.
  • Prefer blue-green releases for easier traffic rollback.
  • Report wave performance using DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, time to restore), tied to the error budget.
  • Join the on-call rotation for embedded applications, using Dynatrace and ServiceNow to identify issues during incidents.
  • Conduct blameless reviews after incidents, turning outcomes into runbooks or backlog items.
  • Explain status in plain language to application owners and leadership, covering promises, shipments, blockers, and next milestones.
  • Lead the Center of Excellence with other SRE leaders to establish a golden path, standards, and a consistent judgment method for waves.
  • Set the reliability bar, train a champion on each team, and conduct error-budget reviews when targets are missed.
