About The Position

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking a Senior Server Applications Analyst to join their Information Systems Branch. In this senior-level technical role, you will support various agency divisions by creating, acquiring, and maintaining complex systems. You will provide technical guidance to other Enterprise Operations technicians and IT project teams, offer expert consultation to management and IT staff, and be responsible for the analysis, planning, development, implementation, and coordination of information systems operations, maintenance, installation, and architecture. Requirements

  • Six (6) years of information systems experience in information systems management.
  • OR An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND Four (4) years of information systems experience in information systems management.
  • OR A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in information systems management.
  • OR Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification after hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and expertise in certificate management and managing Microsoft systems such as AlwaysOnVPN, Azure, Kubernetes, Windows, Linux or other cloud solutions.
  • Experience in high-level system planning and considering issues such as resource use, disaster planning, overall system performance and security.
  • Experience in the highest level of expertise and consultation for intranet or internet technology based systems both on premise and cloud based systems.
  • Experience in the highest level of support for mission critical point of sale applications where criticality of the system includes time critical, revenue, regulatory requirements and public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate, and design new technology for the agency’s mission-critical infrastructure, including cloud computing, systems management, remote access, security, firewalls, and intranet/internet access and security.
  • Coordinate system planning, considering resource use, disaster planning, overall system performance, and security.
  • Recommend appropriate courses of action on issues related to data sharing, data storage, resource use, fault tolerance, redundancy, usage, security, integrity, compatibility, capacity, and change control management.
  • Resolve system crashes and support critical point of sale applications for DMV and the Commerce and Compliance Division.
  • Manage and assist with multiple operating system platforms and internet communications security.
  • Identify software and hardware defects and configuration problems, research failures, and contact vendor technical support.
  • Conduct business analysis, research, needs assessment, business process modeling, documentation, architecture, and program development.
  • Analyze and modify vendor software while working with vendor contacts and management.
  • Research, design, and construct new systems using server and internet technology, ensuring alignment with business needs, security, and agency standards.
