About The Position

The Optics Operations Product Engineering team partners with a cross-functional team of development engineers to design and sustain Optical transceiver components and modules throughout their product lifecycle. Product Engineers are self-motivated, result-oriented, and strong-minded engineers who embrace creativity and new ways of thinking to deliver innovative solutions. In this role, you will be a key Optics Operations Engineering team member supporting the Cisco Optics Operations next generation product portfolio.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD Electrical Engineering and/or related engineering fields
  • proven experience working CMOS/Memory foundries or fabless design companies
  • Proven track record of transitioning products from NPI to High volume production through a contract manufacture partner
  • Experience in advanced CMOS technology nodes 7nm & beyond
  • knowledge and experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) during product development
  • Analytical skills on troubleshooting and JMP Scripting, Python, or AI models for automated yield prediction and monitoring
  • Background with product development tasks: Bill of Materials & Change Management

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience with Advantest 93k ATE for high-performance semiconductor devices.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Optics or Silicon Photonics experience is a plus.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with experience presenting senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with foundry to drive failure analysis yield loss and improve yield through process optimization
  • Collaborate with internal DFT and test teams to bring up and optimize test flow, set up specs.
  • Analyze ATE/WAT data and evaluate process corners, yield sensitivity.
  • Collaborate with internal DFT and engineering to Improve test coverage to screen downstream failures.
  • Correlate ATE test with bench test and system level test
  • Own overall yield roadmaps, cost analysis, and continuously yield improvement
  • Engage with wafer equipment suppliers, foundries, contract manufacture and test vendors to address issues of quality and performance
  • Establish manufacturing metrics to drive continuous improvement of equipment performance and process to meet wafer product specification
  • Drive the characterization of NPI & sustaining product yields including benchmark correlations to meet and/or exceed product cost and equipment capacity targets
