About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Technology Assessor to be an integral part of TRC’s Security and Emergency Management practice and a trusted member of a team responsible for supporting our government and commercial sector clients. In this role you will primarily be working as an embedded Technology Assessor to perform field tests to verify critical electronic security system functionality at over 100 facilities across eastern Massachusetts, but other duties with other clients may periodically be assigned as well. The successful candidate will build upon a solid technical systems foundation and apply this knowledge in a physical security setting to identify various types of issues for correction. The ability to work as part of a coordinated, diverse team is critical. This position requires the candidate to be in daily commuting distance to Boston.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with systems, construction, and/or systems testing.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Previous experience designing or installing electronic security systems (e.g., video, access control, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of any of the major security platforms and systems (e.g., Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, LenelS2, Axis Communications, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a larger team to support business objectives.
  • Travel throughout the greater Boston area (travel estimated at 8 to 15 days per month).
  • Ability to work in commercial and industrial settings and follow strict safety protocols.
  • Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to pass multiple detailed background checks (including criminal history) and drug screening
  • Must have US Work Authorization and a valid driver’s license and ability to travel by air, bus, train, etc.
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office tools, laptop computers, and/or related tools
  • Ability to walk across uneven ground, stand for extended periods of time, often in outdoor environments, as well as work in occasionally loud settings.
  • Basic business acumen and the ability to understand, support and grow client relationships.
  • Ability to travel occasionally in the US for other clients/assignments.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET or RCDD Certification.
  • PE certification (electrical or mechanical)
  • Certification as a Physical Security Professional (PSP) via ASIS International or similar.
  • Bi-or multi-lingual skills.
  • Knowledge of fire/life safety systems and standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical/digital communications systems.
  • Active Right of Way (ROW) training/certification.
  • Basic/working knowledge of construction and National Electrical Code (NEC).

Responsibilities

  • Work with other team members to organize, plan, schedule and conduct field assessments to verify security equipment (e.g., video cameras, access controls, etc.) functionality at active industrial facilities.
  • Summarize assessment findings in well written reports and feed service requests into a Service Now process.
  • Document and report out other physical security related equipment (fences, exterior lighting, doors, windows, etc.) that are damaged or compromised.
  • Communicate results of assessments to TRC management and client leadership.
  • Author reports, technical memos, and other deliverables as directed.
  • Travel throughout the greater Boston area (travel estimated at 8 to 15 days per month)
  • Work closely with government security and emergency management and law enforcement personnel and agencies.
  • Support and grow client relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
