About The Position

We are seeking a versatile, mission-focused Systems Engineer & Systems Administrator with strong automation and security compliance experience to join a tight-knit, high-impact team. In this role, you will safeguard the integrity, performance, and security posture of critical client/server environments and network infrastructure. You will bridge traditional system administration with modern infrastructure automation—managing cross-platform Windows/Linux systems, maintaining containerized services, configuring network devices, and ensuring strict compliance with security protocols. Working directly alongside end-users and customer stakeholders, you will bring exceptional problem-solving and proactive communication to keep high-priority defense systems resilient and battle-ready.

Requirements

  • ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED
  • Comprehensive administration and engineering experience across both Linux and Windows environments in mission-critical client/server setups.
  • Deep understanding of security compliance frameworks, baseline hardening, security protocol enforcement, and vulnerability patching.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining networking devices (Cisco, Juniper, Arista) alongside core network services, Active Directory, LDAP, Centrify, and Group Policy.
  • Practical familiarity with system administration automation techniques, containerization technologies, and Kubernetes orchestration environments.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues, articulate technical challenges, and escalate critical risks effectively to leadership and customer stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 7 + years of professional software development experience OR High School Diploma / GED , PLUS 11 + years of hands-on technical software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using automation platforms (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) to streamline configuration management and infrastructure deployments.
  • Familiarity with virtualized infrastructure (e.g., VMware) and cloud-hosted enterprise workloads.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks and using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) to manage operational tasks and system tickets.
