You will advise leadership and partner teams on the business risks associated with security issues, and work empathetically with engineering teams to deliver secure solutions without unnecessary friction. The role involves managing cloud access controls, operationalizing security platforms, responding to incidents, supporting compliance initiatives, and using security metrics to address cross-team issues.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in SecOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Security, Threat Detection & Response, or software development with a strong focus on security engineering.
  • Hands-on security engineering experience, with an interest in automating controls and building scalable solutions rather than relying on manual processes.
  • Experience managing cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure, or OCI, and Kubernetes environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems and SecOps workflows, including Git and Terraform, in cloud environments.
  • Practical experience with one or more of infrastructure automation, network segmentation, system hardening, container and cloud security concepts, or security observability.
  • Experience with multiple programming languages, such as Golang and/or Python.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, make informed decisions with incomplete information, and adapt as requirements evolve.
  • A flexible and constructive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to make build-versus-buy trade-offs, help build solutions, and review available tools.
  • Understanding of secure engineering best practices and ability to explain problem statements and propose solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Advise team leadership and partner teams by clearly articulating business risks associated with security issues.
  • Harden cloud-native environments across AWS, OCI, and GCP by introducing secure-by-default cloud controls.
  • Enable engineers to design, build, and use infrastructure securely at scale by creating infrastructure-as-code modules and reusable code libraries.
  • Manage IAM and RBAC for cloud infrastructure, and partner with IT to streamline authentication and authorization for unified access control.
  • Deploy, integrate, and operationalize security platforms and services, including SIEM, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint tooling, and cloud security tooling.
  • Respond to security incidents and harden environments after incidents.
  • Support control monitoring and remediation for compliance initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze security metrics to address security issues involving cross-team dependencies.
  • Partner with engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver practical, scalable security solutions without unnecessary friction.
