About The Position

The Senior Security Network Architect is a six-month hybrid assignment requiring three days onsite each week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with an unpaid lunch. The role calls for technical knowledge of the organization’s platforms, systems, languages, SaaS providers, and location-based technologies, along with experience in customer-facing applications and project execution. Salary is commensurate with the scope of work and job experience. No holiday overtime or travel is required; parking is not provided.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field; demonstrated equivalent experience and education may be considered in lieu of the degree, subject to approval.
• Prior experience designing customer-facing applications.
• Prior experience running projects and writing technical documents, including scopes of work, software requirements, and estimates.
• Basic knowledge of EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudWatch, Docker, ActiveMQ, RDS/Postgres, Firebase, and Sentry.
• Knowledge of Java, Kotlin, and SQL.
• Prior working knowledge of railroad operations.
• Prior working knowledge of GIS or location-based data and systems, including Mapbox and ESRI.
• Intellectual curiosity and passion for technology.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent planning and analytical skills and superior communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of React, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript for frontend work.
• Knowledge of React Native.
• Knowledge of SaaS providers including GitHub, GitLab, Sentry, Intercom, Airtable, and Expo.
