The Senior Manager of Security is responsible for the daily leadership and operational management of the contracted security program supporting the West Palm Beach campus safety and security operations. This role oversees access control and badging operations, command center activities, and security patrol functions, ensuring consistent execution of physical security protocols and procedures. The Senior Manager serves as the primary operational liaison between the contracted guard force and the Associate Director of Security, maintaining situational awareness of campus operations and providing timely updates on incidents, staffing, and security posture. This position must be capable of representing the Security organization and communicating effectively with campus executives and leadership teams in the absence of the Associate Director.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree and 7+ years of experience in Law Enforcement, Security, Military or Defense experience, or within a government regulated environment; OR Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • 5+ years of Industrial Security Management
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing security guard personnel
  • 5+ years of experience overseeing security Command Center or Security Operations Center functions and post orders
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in a relevant field
  • Active U.S. government issued Secret level security clearance a plus
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing corporate security programs, and managing third-party contracted security services.
  • ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification
  • Experience with LenelS2 / Onguard and Milestone
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Experience conducting audits and reconciliations of security records.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop SOPs and process documentation.
  • Project coordination experience related to working with government officials, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and principles (CORE/ACE, SixSigma) or other data-driven process methodologies.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate across the organization, as well as suppliers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the contracted security team supporting campus operations.
  • Manage daily security functions including badging/access control, command center operations, and patrol activities.
  • Key point of contact for all access control activities (employees, contractors, foreign nationals, visitors)
  • Address Report It Don’t Ignore It (RIDII) cases and employee relations issues
  • Ensure adherence to security policies, post orders, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure contract security staffing and service levels meet operational expectations.
  • Support security logistics for terminations, contractor onboarding/renewals, Workday updates, and background check evaluations
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot campus-wide security issues including parking, deliveries, alarm responses, and PMR submissions
  • Maintain continuous communication with the Associate Director of Security regarding operational conditions, incidents, and risks.
  • Provide professional briefings to campus leadership and executives when required.
  • Ensure proper incident response, reporting, and escalation protocols are followed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve security operations and effectiveness.
