About The Position

The Senior Security Engineer, Infrastructure will help secure and operate the cloud and Kubernetes environments supporting Chainalysis products and its Hosted AI Platform (HAIP). The role combines production operations with practical security engineering, including responding to platform alerts, troubleshooting infrastructure, and delivering security and reliability improvements through Terraform and Kubernetes. The engineer will work with Infrastructure Security, Platform Engineering, AI Core, and other engineering partners to address risks at their source and make infrastructure more secure and reliable to operate.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone comfortable working in a terminal and experienced in supporting production systems, taking infrastructure issues from investigation through resolution. The position also participates in the AI Product on-call rotation and supports Chainalysis’s emphasis on applying AI thoughtfully across its work.

Requirements

• Production cloud infrastructure experience, preferably with AWS.
• Working knowledge of security controls such as IAM, networking, secrets, encryption, or logging.
• Hands-on production Kubernetes experience, including inspecting workloads, reading logs, and troubleshooting failures with command-line tools.
• Experience authoring Terraform changes that have been reviewed and deployed to production.
• Comfort shipping changes through Git and pull requests.
• Production on-call or incident-response experience, including alert investigation, clear communication, and sound escalation judgment.
• Python or similar scripting ability.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders across an R&D organization to resolve security issues with urgency and a team-first approach.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating AI/ML infrastructure, LLM platforms, or services integrating with model providers; familiarity with AI gateway concepts such as model routing or quotas.
• Experience with Cloudflare or other edge/network security controls.
• Exposure to cloud security posture management tools such as Wiz, Prisma Cloud, or Orca.
• Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
• Familiarity with blockchain, crypto, fintech, or regtech infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads and cloud services by investigating pod health, logs, errors, latency, and upstream provider issues to identify root causes.
• Ship reviewed Terraform and Kubernetes changes that improve the security and reliability of HAIP and broader cloud infrastructure.
• Improve AWS and edge/network controls, including IAM, networking, secrets, encryption, logging, and Cloudflare.
• Reduce recurring misconfigurations through reusable patterns and runbooks.
• Use Python or similar scripting, monitoring improvements, and cross-team collaboration to automate operational work and drive fixes to completion.
• Participate in the AI Product on-call rotation, triage production alerts, communicate clearly, and escalate when needed.
• Partner with product, platform, and other engineering teams to address security risks and issues.
