Zendesk is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to join our growing fast-paced Security Technical Compliance team. We are looking for an individual with compliance skills, deep curiosity, and the adaptability to thrive in our ever-evolving landscape. We are seeking someone who can master a highly technical craft while simultaneously demonstrating understanding, friendliness, and an eagerness to focus and collaborate: an individual who combines technical expertise with a positive demeanor, is self-motivated, able to keep up with changing security trends, new technologies, controls, and our growing set of products. A grasp of foundational information security concepts is ideal, along with outstanding written and oral communication skills. Your role will be multifaceted, involving collaborations with diverse teams across the company, both technical and non-technical, on a variety of short- and long-term projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Solid skills in app / UI testing as well as understanding of SaaS stacks which underpin app structures
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS/PaaS Cloud environments (AWS preferred, Azure / GCP helpful).
  • Workable understanding (or ability to rapidly learn) common compliance frameworks and/or privacy standards such as GDPR, ISO, SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Security fundamentals (RBAC, PLP, Auth mechanisms, CIA triad, risk and remediation strategies, etc.).
  • Previous experience in a technical role.
  • The ability to facilitate business initiatives or cross-functional projects that align with security strategies.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain sophisticated concepts clearly to various audiences.
  • Any experience in automations and integrations is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive technical reviews to identify potential flaws in our products (focus on HIPAA and FedRamp)
  • Engage in reporting and data analysis tasks.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and act as a trusted advisor, collaborating among others with Legal, Engineering, Product, and GRC teams.
  • Provide technical expertise in customer meetings and sales engagements.
