About The Position

Parsons is looking for a talented Senior Security Architect to join our growing team! You will operate in an advisory role, responsible for prioritizing security initiatives across the lines of business (BU’s), Technology, and representing the Office of the CISO in security matters. In this role you'll be responsible for working within the enterprise to ensure that all Parsons technology infrastructure and services are disciplined and conform to industry best practices for information security. Key success criteria for this role include advancing the mission of security into Parsons’ internal services and business/customer-facing solution

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen with the willingness and ability to maintain or obtain a government security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or other related fields, from an accredited university. Equivalent professional experience can be used in lieu of a degree
  • At least 10 years' experience in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or Program Management, or additional education in lieu of years of experience
  • Proficient in ITIL or Agile methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of operating in an IT or security environment
  • Expert knowledge of AWS and cloud services configuration and development
  • Expert knowledge of operating systems and system administration
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise environments, networking and network security
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networking and network protocols
  • Ability to interface with and describe security concerns to users, customers, and senior leadership
  • Proficient in setting a high-level goal, determine sub-tasks and pre-requisites, then design and execute an effective plan to satisfy all requirements, completed without extensive guidance

Nice To Haves

  • One of the following certifications: CompTIA Expert Security Practitioner (CASP+), GIAC Strategic Planning, Policy, and Leadership (GSTRT), GIAC Security Leadership (GSLC), SAFe for Architects, (ISC)2 Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSP-ISSAP), AWS Solutions Architect
  • Proficient in coordinating and motivating cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams while supporting end- to end delivery of tactical and strategic solutions
  • Proficient in establishing technical metrics for reporting, with proficiency in pattern recognition and understanding trends
  • Experience in the understand areas focused on general project management, cybersecurity audits, governance, risk assessment, or compliance
  • Proficient in security engineering activities such as architecture review, network mapping, device and application troubleshooting, tuning, and making security recommendations to reduce risk
  • Proficient in developing documentation including work instructions, plans, trade studies, and gap analysis
  • Proficient in managing network and security vendor relationships
  • Proficient in creating consumable and relevant security reports from large amounts of data

Responsibilities

  • Advising multiple areas of Parsons' business, technology teams, and leadership on implementing cyber security best practices
  • Works in an Agile environment and supports review of business needs, priority refinement, milestones, and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks.
  • Engagement across the organization and partnership with a diverse set of Parsons IT and business stakeholders, awareness of business needs for delivery and agility and to ensure security topics (operations, engineering, risk, compliance) are integrated into all activities
  • Working with Parsons Cybersecurity, Information Technology Services teams, and others across the global business organization on practical implementation of security controls and data protection policies
  • Review technology designs with technology architects and engineers, taking local and regional into account
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for the Cybersecurity organization
  • Responding to queries from the business in support of their programs and projects
  • Serve as a knowledge expert on network infrastructure and perimeter security technologies (such as firewalls, load balancers, WAF, CASB, proxies, SDN, DNS and DDOS solutions
  • Teach and mentor security apprentices in BISO skills
  • Special Projects – Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
