About The Position

We are looking for a senior engineering leader to build the next generation functionalities and infrastructure in one of the most critical areas of Cloud - AWS Identity. To succeed in this role you will be a veteran senior leader who possesses experience in building high-performing, highly scalable, and resilient systems in a complex, multi-tiered, and fast-paced environment. You will work with and grow a talented engineering team that has proven track record of excellence.

We develop and operate a set of tier-0 services that are critical to AWS’ business because it helps define the security of AWS as it controls how AWS services can access each other, and on AWS as it controls customers’ access to their applications built on AWS. You will work directly with major AWS customers while partnering with internal AWS services. You will manage a global service footprint that has very strict latency and availability requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering team management experience
• Master's degree in Computer Science
• Experience building large-scale machine learning and AI solutions at Internet scale
• Experience distilling informal customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives

• 10+ years of building large-scale machine learning and AI solutions at Internet scale experience

Responsibilities

• Build and lead an organization dedicated to improving AWS developer experience
• Identify and prioritize high-impact problems that impede AWS software development
• Develop a strategic roadmap that delivers meaningful improvements weekly while working toward long-term transformation
• Establish team culture and set new standards for the ideal software builder experience
• Partner closely with other AWS Services while focusing on AWS specific challenges
• Make and defend decisions about scope and priorities, even when facing pressure from senior stakeholders
• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and operational support of tools and services.
• Re-imagine how developers build and operate the software that underpins the world's largest cloud
• Drive significant transformation across AWS engineering leveraging AI
