About The Position

As a Scrum Master on this program, you will be tasked with ensuring that Scrum theory, practices, and rules are understood by the team and enacted. You will support multiple applications with different team members within a fast-paced application development environment while adhering to Scrum principles. This role involves leading a complex, large-scale Agile program and coordinating with various program support teams. You will be responsible for implementing new features that support mission assurance and operational management functions. The position requires organizing and facilitating various agile events, including sprint planning, release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, Program Increment (PI) Planning, and other SAFe related events. You will track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management. In partnership with the product owner, agile coaches, and scrum teams, you will facilitate the definition of user stories, sizing, acceptance criteria, minimal viable product, and lead continuous refinement and prioritization of the product backlog. You will ensure development teams embrace and practice core agile principles, update agile tracking systems for transparency, and assist with internal and external communication. Additionally, you will help teams make appropriate commitments, determine and remove obstacles, facilitate discussion and conflict resolution, provide direction to project activities, and promote continuous improvement to help teams stabilize velocity. The role also emphasizes promoting a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related business field
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience as certified Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Release Train Engineer (RTE) for large Agile software development efforts
  • (5) years' experience leading projects under Agile/Scrum
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of medium to large scale through all sprints/iterations and phases of the project.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and partner effectively using strong verbal and written communication.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processes
  • Experience managing complex large-scale enterprise IT projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills and the drive to work unsupervised.
  • Active Secret level security clearance
