About The Position

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Senior Scrum Master position! This is a 12-18 months contract and will be hybrid in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Scrum Master experience working with multiple agile teams concurrently, demonstrating ability to balance competing priorities and team needs
  • 4+ years of experience as a member of an agile team, with hands-on knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP) frameworks
  • Technical fluency sufficient to engage in development conversations and drive work forward with engineering teams (prior BA or technical role experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead through influence in a servant-leadership capacity, coaching teams and stakeholders without direct management authority
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills with demonstrated ability to support developing Product Owners and keep projects moving through effective coordination
  • Deep understanding of agile and lean principles with practical experience applying practices like retrospectives, ATDD, TDD, continuous integration, and story mapping
  • Experience fostering team self-organization and building cultures of continuous improvement through transparency, collaboration, and psychological safety

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor three agile teams simultaneously (two Scrum teams and one Kanban team) through servant-leadership, fostering self-organization, cross-functionality, and continuous improvement across consumer lending and loan originations initiatives
  • Support and guide a developing Product Owner by providing strategic direction, coaching on agile best practices, and ensuring effective backlog management and stakeholder communication
  • Facilitate all team ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to drive alignment, transparency, and high-performing team dynamics
  • Drive continuous improvement culture by leveraging agile practices such as user stories, story mapping, ATDD, TDD, pairing, and information radiators to help teams discover better ways of working
  • Remove impediments and address blocking issues that extend beyond the team's authority, coordinating with other teams and stakeholders to keep work flowing and teams focused on their sprint goals
  • Visualize and communicate team progress through effective use of information radiators, ensuring transparency and visibility of work and impediments to all stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other Agile Leaders across the organization to increase the effectiveness of agile adoption and mentor less experienced Scrum Masters
  • Utilize technical understanding to engage meaningfully with team members, ask informed questions, and drive technical discussions forward
