Senior Scrum Master (Technical Delivery Lead)

EquifaxToronto, ON
Onsite

About The Position

We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Scrum Master with a proven Technical BSA background to orchestrate delivery across multiple squads working on a single, integrated product. You are more than a facilitator; you are a technical translator with the 'BSA DNA' required to dive deep into requirements and troubleshoot alongside developers. As the primary 'glue' for our squads, you will bridge the gap between complex system logic and streamlined execution, ensuring a unified 'Definition of Done' while shielding the dev team from ambiguity and fragmented discussions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of total experience in software delivery, specifically requiring at least 3+ years as a Senior Scrum Master for multiple squads and 2+ years of Techinical BSA.
  • Proven ability to read and understand technical artifacts (Swagger/API docs, JSON/XML schemas, SQL queries, and architecture diagrams).
  • Experience managing delivery for squads working within a single integrated codebase, including knowledge of branching strategies and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Jira/Azure DevOps, specifically using portfolio-level tools (Jira Plans, Advanced Roadmaps) to track cross-squad dependencies.
  • A track record of writing detailed non-functional requirements (security, scalability, latency) and data mapping documents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience as Scrum Master, a Business Systems Analyst or hybrid role
  • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience with requirement management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • You can walk up to a whiteboard and sketch out a high-level system flow or sequence diagram during a grooming session to clarify a requirement.
  • You have a history of catching requirement gaps or logic flaws before they reach a developer, significantly reducing rework.
  • You’ve worked in environments using LeSS (Large Scale Scrum) or Nexus, specifically focusing on the integration challenges of multiple teams.
  • You’ve previously been a developer or can write basic scripts to automate repetitive reporting or data validation tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Scrum ceremonies for multiple squads, with a heavy focus on cross-team dependency mapping and synchronization for our integrated product.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between Product and Engineering, ensuring that high-level requirements are decomposed into technically viable, well-defined user stories.
  • Use your BSA background to "jump in" and troubleshoot blockers (analyzing API responses, querying databases, or reviewing system logs) before pulling developers away from their core work.
  • Own the "Definition of Done" across squads to ensure that shared code is integrated, tested, and high-quality, preventing "squad-collision" issues in our shared environment.
  • Use your analytical mindset to move beyond velocity—tracking lead time, cycle time, and technical debt to identify systemic bottlenecks in our delivery process.

Benefits

  • nurturing our people for career advancement and their learning and development
  • supporting our next generation of leaders
  • maintaining an inclusive and diverse work environment
  • regularly engaging and recognizing our employees
