About The Position

At BeOne Institute, we extend BeOne’s execution strength with a dedicated innovation engine, bringing agility and scientific depth to transform uncertainty into actionable and high-impact therapeutic opportunities. We operate according to three core principles: Bold Exploration: we pursue novel and high-potential ideas through rapid, iterative innovation cycles. Strategic Alignment: we prioritize disease areas that align closely with BeOne’s R&D priorities and long-term vision. Pipeline Impact: we translate insights into tangible assets and advance emerging platforms into impactful programs. As a Senior Scientist at BeOne Institute, you will lead and execute cutting-edge genomics and systems immunology studies supporting discovery and translational programs in immunology, inflammation, and immuno-oncology. You will leverage single-cell and bulk multi-omics technologies to uncover disease mechanisms, identify novel therapeutic targets, characterize immune responses, and generate actionable biological insights that enable therapeutic innovation. Working closely with discovery biologists, computational scientists, and translational teams, you will integrate complex molecular and cellular datasets to drive high-impact research programs.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent advanced degree in one or more of the following areas: Immunology, Computational Biology, Genomics, Systems Biology, Cancer Biology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of scientific achievements and innovation in genomics, immunology, or systems biology.
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and executing single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), CITE-seq, ATAC-seq, immune TCR/BCR repertoire sequencing, immunopeptidomics or other next-generation sequencing-based technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in TCR and BCR repertoire analysis, clonotype tracking, immune cell state characterization, and immune profiling.
  • Experience with sample preparation, experimental design, library construction, sequencing workflows, and quality control for genomics applications.
  • Strong understanding of immunology, inflammation, cancer biology, and immune mechanisms relevant to therapeutic target discovery and translational research.
  • Strong experience analyzing and interpreting complex multi-omics datasets using tools such as R, Python, Seurat, Scanpy, Bioconductor, Cell Ranger, ArchR, Signac, or related bioinformatics platforms.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and interdisciplinary research environment, and to integrate multi-disciplinary approaches to solve complex biological problems.
  • Strong collaboration skills across functional and disciplinary boundaries.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cell line engineering, in vitro cell-based immunology assays and high-throughput cell-based screening is a plus.
  • Experience in autoimmune disease, inflammatory disorders, tumor immunology, or immuno-oncology is preferred.
  • Experience with spatial transcriptomics, multiplex imaging, spatial proteomics, or other advanced tissue profiling technologies is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence, large-scale biological foundation models, or AI-enabled target discovery approaches is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret multi-omics studies supporting target discovery, target validation, and translational research in immunology, inflammation, and immuno-oncology.
  • Independently develop experimental strategies utilizing single-cell RNA-seq, CITE-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics, immune TCR/BCR repertoire sequencing, immunopeptidomics, bulk RNA-seq, and related genomic technologies to characterize immune responses, clonal dynamics, antigen-specific populations to support therapeutic target discovery and mechanism of action studies.
  • Collaborate closely with computational biology and research informatics teams to develop analytical pipelines, interpret complex datasets, and derive biologically meaningful conclusions.
  • Design and implement in vitro experiments and translate omics findings into mechanistic hypotheses and actionable targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary or cross-functional teams and drive innovation within and beyond the Institute.
  • Contribute to management and operational activities to support strategic objectives of the BeOne Institute at the San Carlos site.
  • May mentor junior scientists, research associates, interns
