The Senior Scientist - Flow Cytometry is responsible for developing and optimizing assays and methods of moderate complexity within the Translational Science Laboratory. This role supports timely delivery, technical troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable laboratory operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline is required
  • 4 years of related experience in method or assay development or specific methodology area
  • Experience with assay/method development, troubleshooting, and process optimization in a laboratory environment
  • Sound knowledge of scientific principles, theories, concepts, and state of the art instrumentation
  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to work across functions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and independently while meeting timeline expectations
  • Sound troubleshooting capabilities and application of root cause analysis and advanced problem solving techniques
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients

Responsibilities

  • Plan the assay and method development process and write scientific methods
  • Execute method development studies and support validation activities as needed
  • Troubleshoot assays and optimize processes to improve performance and sustainability
  • Transfer developed methods into the validation process and support analytical testing delivery
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure methods are scalable and sustainable in laboratory operations
  • Lead low to moderately complex technical projects and guide assigned team members to meet deliverables
  • Mentor and train junior staff while contributing to reports, presentations, and scientific communications
