About The Position

Parabilis Medicines is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to creating extraordinary medicines for patients with serious diseases by unlocking biologically important targets long considered undruggable. The company has pioneered a new class of alpha-helical peptides – Helicons™ – capable of modulating intracellular proteins that have historically been beyond the reach of conventional medicines. The company’s lead investigational medicine, zolucatetide, is the first and only direct inhibitor of the β-catenin:TCF interaction, a central node in the Wnt/β-catenin pathway that has eluded drug developers for decades. Zolucatetide is being evaluated in the clinic across multiple Wnt/β-catenin-driven diseases, including desmoid tumors, familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and a range of other solid tumor indications. Beyond zolucatetide, Parabilis is advancing additional Helicon-based programs focused on other challenging targets where we believe our medicines could have life-altering impact. We are seeking a Senior Scientist, Clinical Biomarkers to execute biomarker strategies that carry our oncology programs from pre-IND through Phase 1/2 clinical trials. In this role, you will translate preclinical biomarker findings into clinically feasible strategies, select and qualify fit-for-purpose assays, and drive hypothesis-driven data analysis and interpretation to inform patient selection, mechanism of action, and response monitoring. You will collaborate closely with Data Science, Biology, Clinical Science, Clinical Operations, Clinical Pharmacology, to translate biological insights into actionable clinical decisions and external engagement (e.g., with investigators and partners). This is an individual-contributor role well suited to a scientist who is ready to apply their preclinical translational background to clinical biomarker work, with support from senior team members and cross-functional partners including Clinical Science, Clinical Operations, and Clinical Pharmacology. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape biomarker strategy across a growing oncology pipeline.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or a closely related field
5+ years of total experience with at least 2+ years of industry experience in biomarker research spanning pre-IND through Phase 1/2 clinical programs
Prior experience in preclinical oncology translational research
In-depth knowledge of fit-for-purpose assay technologies and their implementation in clinical studies
Direct experience with established and evolving biomarker assay technologies (e.g., spatial omics, multiplex immunoassays, NGS, IHC, flow cytometry, ctDNA/liquid biopsy)
Proven track record of delivering impactful clinical translational data in close collaboration, preferably in an industry setting
Demonstrated ability to interpret complex biomarker datasets and translate findings into clinical/scientific recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to cross-functional and external audiences
Publication record in peer-reviewed oncology/translational research journals
Demonstrated ability to utilize AI tools for day-to-day work; baseline proficiency is expected, and advanced or innovative use of AI is a strong plus

Nice To Haves

Experience in clinical spatial omics assay design, execution, and downstream bioinformatics analysis (e.g., cell segmentation, spatial clustering), in collaboration with Data Science, is preferred

Responsibilities

Capture key biomarkers identified in preclinical studies and assess their feasibility for clinical translation, from pre-IND through Phase 1/2 programs
Develop or qualify and implement fit-for-purpose clinical biomarker assays and vendors, setting expectations for anticipated data readouts, interpretation, and delivery timelines
Conduct hypothesis-driven analysis, interpretation, and presentation of clinical biomarker data in support of clinical decision-making and external engagement
Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Data Science and Biology colleagues to perform exploratory biomarker analysis and support novel biomarker identification
Partner with Clinical Science, Clinical Operations, and Clinical Pharmacology to embed biomarker strategy into protocol design and study execution
Track and interpret emerging biomarker literature and competitive landscape to inform biomarker strategy
