About The Position

The Senior Scientist, Bioconjugates, Downstream Processing leads and performs process development activities for antibodies and bioconjugates such as targeted lipid-nano particles (tLNP), antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), antibody-oligo conjugate (AOC), and antibody-peptide conjugate (APC) within the API-Large Molecule group in Malvern, PA. This role involves leading and participating in experimental design, executing planned experiments, and optimizing process steps for the target process scale, including laboratory- and occasional pilot-scale conjugation reactions, chromatography, and TFF filtration. The position also entails leading the design and execution of development studies to identify appropriate conditions and establish ranges for critical process parameters across chromatography, filtration, and conjugation reaction process steps. Responsibilities include recording and analyzing experimental data, verifying data integrity and accuracy, reporting and summarizing findings for the project team, drafting technical documents, and performing technology transfers to collaboration partners. The candidate will work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute independently to meet project timelines and objectives.

Requirements

  • PhD (preferably in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences or Biochemistry or other equivalent major) with at least 3 years of relevant post-doctoral experience OR MS (Preferably in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences or Biochemistry or other equivalent major) and with at least 12 years of relevant experience OR a BS (preferably in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences or Biochemistry or other equivalent major) and with at least 15 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Knowledge and hands-on laboratory experience in downstream processing, purification of antibodies/recombinant protein therapeutics, and production of bioconjugates (such as tLNP, ADC or other equivalent conjugates), in particular chromatography, filtration and conjugation, are required.
  • The candidate must be highly organized and capable of managing/pursuing multiple projects independently.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Experience maintaining written records of work in the form of (electronic) notebooks, technical reports and protocols is required.
  • Data reporting, ability to present findings to management, and experience with team-based collaborations is a must.
