The Senior Scheduling Coordinator reports directly to the Senior Director of Access and plays a central role in the coordination and management of patient operations and scheduling within the Medical Oncology clinic. Requirements

  • High school graduate, GED, or formal education equivalent plus (8) eight years of training and/or experience in business office administration, customer service, or related work of which three years’ experience is in patient registration, scheduling, or billing in a healthcare environment OR Bachelor's degree plus (4) four years’ experience in patient registration, scheduling, or billing in a healthcare environment.
  • Both verbal ad written communications
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Initial contact with established patients and inform patient of expectations of scheduled appointments.
  • Organize outside records for clinic RN to review.
  • Coordinate and schedule complex appointments in Medical Oncology and other clinics as ordered.
  • Monitor WQ activity and educate schedulers in regards to scheduling complex appointments in Medical Oncology and the treatment, testing areas.
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the scheduling and scheduling coordination, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate data management, and seamless communication across internal departments.
  • Serves as a key liaison for existing patients through appointment scheduling.
  • Obtaining and organizing outside medical records, pathology slides, and radiology imaging; verifying insurance coverage; and working with scheduling and to schedule complex appointments into systems such as EPIC.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and security of patient records, ensuring correct scheduling.
  • This position also assists in first visit logistics to several other clinics.
  • Educates prospective patients and families about the Medical Oncology services and expectations, contributing to a patient-centered experience.
  • Works closely with clinical teams, administrative staff, and external institutions to ensure a high standard of care and service delivery for all new Myeloma patients.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
