Senior Salesforce Engineer

Macrobond Financial ABNew York, NY

About The Position

Macrobond is a leading provider of global economic and financial data and technology for investment professionals. Our customers include over 900 firms spanning the buyside, sell side, corporate and academic sectors. Our platform, rich in intellectual property and supported by a rapidly expanding global team, ensures we remain at the forefront of our industry. With the backing of Francisco Partners, a prominent global tech investment firm, we operate as a truly international company. Our headquarters are in London, and we have key offices in Poland, Lisbon, Hong Kong, Gothenburg, Malmo and New York. We are seeking a Lead Salesforce Engineer to serve as the sole technical owner of our Salesforce platform. Reporting to the Head of Commercial (GTM/Rev) Ops, you will own the build, maintenance, and administration of our Salesforce ecosystem across Sales Cloud, CPQ, and Service Cloud, partnering with Sales Ops, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success, and Customer Support to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. This is a high-autonomy, hands-on role for a well-rounded technical Salesforce professional who has seen enough environments to operate confidently without close supervision. You will prioritize and work the development backlog, keep CPQ and the wider platform healthy, and serve as a senior Salesforce administrator, picking up day-to-day platform support and user-facing requests. Breadth across development and administration matters more than depth in any single area.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience spanning both development and administration, with at least 2 years supporting production CPQ.
  • Strong Apex and SOQL development experience, and proficiency with Lightning Web Components.
  • Proven Salesforce administration experience, including user management, security model, flows, validation rules, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and building integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and middleware tools.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously, scope your own work, and lead technical decisions without close management.
  • Experience with Service Cloud configuration and development.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce governance, security model, and release management best practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer II, and CPQ Specialist certifications.
  • Migration experience from legacy CPQ.
  • SaaS or financial services industry background.
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or python.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical health and architecture of the Salesforce environment.
  • Maintain sound development standards and release management discipline.
  • Partner with the Head of Commercial (GTM/Rev) Ops to translate business priorities into a sequenced backlog.
  • Operate independently within agreed priorities, surfacing risks and trade-offs proactively.
  • Own ongoing support, troubleshooting, and enhancement of Salesforce CPQ, including product configuration, pricing logic, quote templates, and approval workflows.
  • Design and build custom Apex, Lightning Web Components, and integrations to extend native CPQ functionality.
  • Partner with Finance and Sales Ops on Quote-to-Cash improvements, including billing system integrations and renewal automation.
  • Serve as a senior Salesforce administrator, managing users, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and security configuration for globally distributed teams.
  • Handle day-to-day platform support including Flows, Agentforce, field changes, layouts, validations, and report and dashboard builds.
  • Manage sandbox environments and release cycles, ensuring smooth deployment of changes.
  • Provide end-user support and triage for the Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and Support teams.
  • Support the Service Cloud build-out and ongoing development, including case management, knowledge base, Agentforce, and customer-facing portals.
  • Ensure consistent data architecture and user experience across Sales, CPQ, and Service Cloud.
  • Design and build integrations between Salesforce and adjacent systems including our ERP (Business Central), data warehouse (SQL Server), and analytics platform (Hex).
  • Develop API-based integrations using REST, SOAP, Platform Events, and middleware patterns.
  • Maintain integration reliability and observability across the data pipeline.
  • Evaluate emerging tools and capabilities, including orchestration platforms and AI-assisted workflows, and recommend additions to the stack.
  • Help plan and execute the eventual migration from legacy Salesforce CPQ.
  • Contribute to data quality, governance, and reporting initiatives that support board-level revenue analytics.
