This position requires a motivated and driven individual to deliver the right solution and own the customer experience, utilizing a consultative and collaborative approach. The individual must be able to work with Custom Home Builders, Architects, Designers, and Electricians for leads. A keen understanding of the high-end market and its demands is essential, being comfortable discussing product solutions in the tens and hundreds of thousands of dollars. The role involves understanding technology, simplifying its explanation, and making recommendations to end-users or referral sources. Defining the scope of work clearly, exploring alternatives with deep industry understanding, and being comfortable with a long sales cycle (3-6 months) to establish long-term partnerships with referral sources are key aspects.

  • 10+ years of experience in a complex, technical, or high-end sales environment with a proven and verifiable track record of success in closing new deals.

  • Ability to multitask, react and redirect as necessary.
  • Commitment and enthusiasm to participating in a high energy environment committed to success and growth.

  • Technical background understanding the Home Entertainment, Home Automation, Lighting, and Security products.
  • Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent follow up skills and attention to details with a focus on setting goals and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
  • Submit and develop orders by utilizing software based quoting tools.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
