About The Position

Mac Mountain owns, operates, or provides select broadband services for a growing portfolio of regional fiber-broadband ISPs across the Northeast. All business operations for these networks are handled by LightCraft, a shared-services platform. Mac Mountain is hiring a full-time automation engineer with a sales background to partner with their lead engineer and own large pieces of their internally built operational systems as they scale. The first 90 days of this role are defined by three high-urgency projects that directly drive their summer install push and subscriber-growth thesis.

Requirements

  • 6+ years building production software.
  • At least 3 years operating internal tools/integrations end-to-end as an individual contributor.
  • Strong in Python and TypeScript/Node.js.
  • Comfortable in AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch) and Terraform.
  • SQL fluency, ideally on Snowflake.
  • Real experience integrating with messy third-party APIs (rate limits, webhooks, idempotency, field-mapping reconciliation, conflict handling).
  • A modern frontend/dashboard framework (React/Next.js preferred).
  • Marketing attribution/GA4/GTM/UTM hygiene at a working level (shipped server-side conversion stamping, understanding cookies vs. server events, ability to build a defensible CAC report).
  • Strong written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Appointment-scheduling/field-service-dispatch experience (shipped a calendaring system respecting capacity, travel time, and SLA).
  • Voice/telephony or AI-agent experience (Twilio Programmable Voice, IVR design, ElevenLabs, Vapi, Retell, Bland, Pipecat, OpenAI Realtime).
  • AI chatbot/RAG experience (shipped a production website chatbot with handoff to humans and knowledge of transcript context).
  • ISP/fiber/telecom or regulated-industry exposure (HIPAA, CPNI, PCI).
  • Background as the first or second engineer at a startup.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Twilio, SendGrid, ElevenLabs, Stripe, Snowflake, Sage Intacct, Salesforce, Gaiia.

Responsibilities

  • Build a system for automated SMS and email triggers for new accounts, including follow-ups for non-responses.
  • Develop a self-scheduling page that respects crew capacity, travel, and job duration, and writes back to Gaiia.
  • Create reminder, reschedule, and cancel flows for customer installs.
  • Implement a fallback to an AI voice agent for non-responders.
  • Build a live install-funnel dashboard to replace manual call-down work.
  • Roll out UTM-tagged links across all marketing channels (email, paid social, geo-fencing, display, organic, referral, MDU canvassers, and printed flyers/door hangers via QR codes).
  • Wire up GA4 and GTM properly across brand sites.
  • Stamp the originating UTM tuple onto the Gaiia account at signup.
  • Build a CAC dashboard that reports digital, print, and canvasser CAC by channel and cohort.
  • Ship an internal tool for marketing to mint per-batch QR/short URLs for flyers and reps.
  • Post a weekly automated marketing report to Slack.
  • Develop an Intercom-style AI website chatbot for Tier 1/2 self-help.
  • Expand the knowledge base to cover the top-10 selling smart TVs.
  • Create a Concierge analytics dashboard (call volume, intents, sentiment, AHT, FCR, upsell attribution).
  • Refine bidirectional Gaiia mapping for in-call customer-360.
  • Build a post-call AI-summary to tagged-intent to Snowflake pipeline.
  • Implement technical hooks for LightCraft–GWI/ECFiber Shared Services Agreement and CPNI requirements.
  • Co-own and eventually take primary ownership of the AI Voice Agent, Softphone/Dialer App, Tickets Dashboard, KPI Dashboard, Pipeline Tracker, Finance/Quote/Contract/Installation-Process Automation, DataLake, and Infra.
  • Work in weekly sprints tracked in monday.com.
  • Ship behind the scenes most days and demo to the leadership team on Mondays.
