About The Position

Baptist Downtown Protective Services is hiring a Senior Safety Specialist to join our team at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity at Baptist Downtown. This role provides organization-wide leadership, consultation, and technical expertise in workplace safety, life safety, hazardous materials management, and emergency preparedness. Oversees safety programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, OSHA, and other governing agencies. Coordinates safety training, incident investigations, emergency preparedness activities, and life safety initiatives while serving as a key resource for regulatory readiness and risk mitigation. Leads Environment of Care and safety committees, develops policies and procedures, manages hazardous materials and decontamination programs, and partners with organizational leaders to promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across all facilities. Requirements

  • 3-5 Years Healthcare Experience
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) Required
  • Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) Required
