About The Position

The Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist analyzes, implements, and monitors company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Maintains safety equipment inventory, performs periodic safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and may assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical, radioactive, and/or medical). Interacting with a variety of departments, conducts training in emergency response and hazardous material handling. This role is onsite in Portage, Michigan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 4 - 6 years minimum relevant experience
  • 2+ Years direct EHS experience

Nice To Haves

  • Strong understanding of EHS regulations with the ability to interpret requirements and elevate site performance
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and ability to influence across all organizational levels
  • Experience implementing and maintaining EHS management systems
  • Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001

Responsibilities

  • Perform Risk Assessments (RAs) on new and existing processes
  • Prepare and present reports on EHS performance and status to stakeholders
  • Partner across departments to ensure effective change management execution
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen events
  • Develop, implement, and sustain EHS programs
  • Monitor incident trends and provide data-driven recommendations as an EHS SME
  • Maintain waste management processes and environmental management programs
  • Lead EHS initiatives focused on risk reduction, ergonomics, and waste reduction
  • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, and safety ownership
  • Support EHS Committee activities and Global Safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with MIOSHA, EGLE, FDA, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate and deliver training for safety champion teams
  • Execute and sustain 6S programs across the site
  • Perform ergonomic evaluations and implement improvements
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling and medical surveillance programs
  • Ensure compliance in authorized radiation worker areas
  • Collaborate with teams operating in cleanroom environments

  • USN : $69,500.00 - $110,900.00 USD Annual
