About The Position

Moss & Associates, LLC is seeking a Senior Safety Manager to support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team. This role involves the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of solar EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements within an assigned area. The Senior Safety Manager will provide direction and oversight of project EHS teams, support the maintenance and implementation of EHS programs, and drive consistency and best practices across assigned sites. This position requires extensive travel to various client sites within the U.S. and acting as a mentor to EHS teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety required.
  • Four years of safety experience in job offered or related position required, including any experience with DOT/DOL/EPA regulations and OSHA/industrial safety compliances as they relate to the power generation industry and any experience with standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety and four years of safety experience, six years of safety experience will be accepted.
  • Valid driver’s license required to operate company vehicle.
  • Extensive travel on assignments to various unanticipated client sites within U.S.
  • Must have legal authority to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team in the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of solar EHS programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements within an assigned area.
  • Provide direction and oversight of project EHS teams.
  • Support the maintenance and implementation of EHS programs, compliance plans, and initiatives on assigned sites.
  • Support and lead by influence and strategic partnership with client, project, and construction teams on assigned sites.
  • Keep safety credentials current and ensure EHS teams at assigned sites do the same.
  • Evaluate environmental health and safety related risks and take proper actions.
  • Make decisions using knowledge of OSHA construction standards and other applicable industry standards.
  • Drive consistency and continuity within assigned area and share best practices.
  • Work independently and with multiple teams with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Provide coverage as needed if Regional Safety Manager and/or Safety Manager is unavailable.
  • Assist with incident investigations and provide corrective/preventive measures.
  • Assist with facilitating Significant Event Reviews and provide guidance as needed.
  • Assist with project start up.
  • Upload documents to client safety management systems (SMS) as required.
  • Act as a mentor/coach to EHS teams in assigned areas.
  • Track corrective actions to ensure timely closure for assigned areas.
  • Audit SMS entries for assigned areas to ensure quality of data.
  • Conduct field inspections at assigned areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
