About The Position

Parexel is seeking a Senior Real-World Evidence, RWE Programmer to join a high-impact team. This role supports innovative work and offers the opportunity to work remotely from Canada or the Continental United States. The ideal candidate is passionate about real-world data, advanced analytics, and delivering meaningful insights.

Requirements

  • Expert Coder: Spends most of their time hands-on coding versus project management or oversight responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with raw RWE data including both claims data and Flatiron EHR.
  • Can write SQL code from scratch.
  • Advanced SQL Programming experience within the Real-World Data (RWD) domain is required.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing data solutions in the Snowflake platform required.
  • MS in data science, epidemiology, statistics, public health, or related discipline.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Real-World Data (RWD) analysis and Real-World Analytics (RWA) using healthcare claims, EMR, and/or registry databases within the biopharmaceutical industry or provider/payer organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with Flatiron data required; experience with Optum may be considered.
  • Fluency in SQL and R programming is required.
  • Experience writing original code and performing raw data analysis (not derived solely from clinical trials).
  • Includes running analyses and/or developing code for real-world analyses.
  • Familiarity with US and global healthcare coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS, LOINC, MedDRA) and healthcare delivery systems (e.g., payers and reimbursement models).
  • Experience conducting routine and advanced statistical analyses for RWE generation, including time-to-event, cross-sectional, and longitudinal data.
  • Experience with big data analytical platforms.
  • Deep understanding of observational study analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to scrum development goals.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Competent in written and oral English.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SAS and/or Python is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively designs and codes R and SQL programs for assigned project(s), consistently meeting project objectives.
  • Cleans and validates Real-World Data (RWD) to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Implements programming based on RWE protocols using a variety of RWD sources, including Optum and Flatiron.
  • Leverages advanced statistical and epidemiological methodologies to deliver robust and reliable analyses.
  • Creates, reviews, and approves programming plans at both study and project levels.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of programming, epidemiological methodology implementation, and system development life cycle concepts.
  • Maintains clear documentation of analytical programming and operational definitions to support reproducible and auditable RWE studies.
  • Develops dashboards, reports, and presentations to effectively communicate findings.
  • Collaborates with study team members to meet study timelines and recurring reporting deadlines.
