About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Rust Developer to lead the design and execution of critical application conversions and development initiatives. This role involves migrating applications from Java and C/C++ to Rust, mentoring internal teams, and building high-performance, scalable services for cloud and distributed environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Rust, along with strong experience in backend development, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in Software Engineering.
3+ years of experience in Rust Development.
5+ years of experience in Java.
5+ years of experience in C++.
Strong expertise in Rust Programming.
Solid experience with C/C++ and Python.
Understanding of Ownership and Borrowing, Lifetimes, Traits and Generics, Memory Management, Error Handling in Rust.
Experience with Async Programming, Tokio Framework, Concurrency and Multithreading in Rust.
Experience with Cargo Package Management, Rust Testing Frameworks.
Experience in Backend Development, REST APIs, gRPC Services, Microservices Architecture, Distributed Systems, Event-Driven Architectures.
Experience with Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB.
Experience with Messaging Platforms: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus.
Experience with Cloud & Platform Engineering: AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, GitHub Actions, Jenkins CI/CD Automation.
Experience with Operating Systems: Linux Administration, Linux Kernel Concepts, Shell Scripting.
5-7 years of Software Development Experience with 2+ years of hands-on Rust Development.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of Java-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications.
Lead the design and execution of C/C++-to-Rust conversion for Edge applications.
Train and mentor senior SMEs on advanced Rust concepts and best practices.
Enable internal SMEs to assume the Rust Technical Lead role by the end of the engagement.
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Rust.
Build highly scalable, low-latency, and resilient services for cloud and distributed environments.
Develop microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven applications.
Implement concurrent and asynchronous solutions using Rust best practices.
Optimize application performance, memory efficiency, and system reliability.
Collaborate with architects and product teams to define technical solutions and system designs.
Integrate applications with cloud platforms, databases, messaging systems, and enterprise platforms.
Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and sprint planning activities.
Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Ensure security, observability, scalability, and compliance requirements are met.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
