About The Position

The Ruby Developer will join a technical team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining production-grade APIs supporting communication between internal, external, and third-party systems. The ideal candidate is a strong Ruby on Rails engineer with hands-on development experience, strong API expertise, and the ability to contribute directly to production code while collaborating with technical leadership and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of strong Ruby on Rails experience.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience with RSpec testing framework.
  • Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs.
  • Ability to lead engineering teams while remaining hands-on with development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • U.S. Citizen Required

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop APIs, including specifications, endpoints, data models, REST, and GraphQL.
  • Develop and maintain production-grade Ruby services.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality, maintainability, and security.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads, Engineering Crew Leads, and API Architects.
  • Integrate APIs with internal systems, external applications, and third-party services.
  • Use AI-enabled development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure development practices.
  • Collaborate with external engineering teams on technical standards, governance, compliance, and ongoing cATO maintenance.
  • Monitor and optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Manage API versioning and backward compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement enhancements.
  • Participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-call operations.
