About The Position

We are seeking a part-time Right-of-Way Agent to support infrastructure and transportation projects in Reno, NV. This role offers the opportunity to perform a broad range of professional right-of-way functions, including acquisition, relocation, cost analysis, and stakeholder coordination. Working under general direction, you will contribute to projects that require technical expertise, strong negotiation skills, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners. In this role, you will support the planning and execution of right-of-way activities across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 4+ years of relevant professional experience OR 7+ years of professional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience in right-of-way, real estate, property management, or related fields
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal right-of-way regulations and procedures
  • Proven ability to analyze data, manage complex issues, and make sound recommendations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Effective report writing and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments in a part-time capacity
  • Ability to manage complex and sometimes sensitive negotiations while exercising independent judgment and analytical problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting relocation, acquisitions, or infrastructure-related projects is preferred
  • Prior exposure to public sector or transportation projects is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate property acquisitions, including those involving businesses, design considerations, and non-monetary benefits
  • Review and evaluate administrative settlements and provide recommendations for approval
  • Deliver relocation advisory services to displaced individuals and businesses, including planning, housing payment development, and claims review
  • Prepare and support right-of-way cost estimates for client projects
  • Interpret and communicate right-of-way policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop project schedules and provide technical guidance related to right-of-way program elements
  • Collaborate with planning, design, environmental, surveying, and project management teams to identify and resolve right-of-way impacts
  • Participate in the selection of right-of-way consultants and support proposal development and project presentations
  • Perform technical analysis, reporting, and documentation to support project delivery
  • Coordinate with junior staff and provide guidance on assigned tasks as needed
  • Engage with clients, property owners, attorneys, and government agencies to facilitate project progress
