About The Position

Samsung Research America is seeking a Senior Robotics Systems Engineer for its Robot Intelligence Lab, a new facility focused on robotics research and development. The lab develops technologies for intelligent robotic systems that support manipulation, navigation, and complex reasoning, collaborating with universities, startups, government labs, and Samsung product and research teams. The engineer will own the end-to-end software architecture for the robot platform and make technical decisions about integrating hardware and software at scale. As an early team member, the role will establish the foundations for the platform, working across reasoning, dexterity, perception, and simulation teams to integrate their work. The position includes defining component interfaces, engineering practices, infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, package management, and deployment strategies to support rapid research iteration and maintainable growth. The position is performed in an office setting. It requires sitting and standing at a desk, communicating in person and by telephone, and frequently operating standard office equipment such as telephones and computers. The base pay range is $163,300–$224,600 USD, with annual bonus eligibility and benefits.
