About The Position

E-Space is hiring a Senior Robotics Engineer for its Manufacturing team, which builds advanced aerospace products at high rate and high precision. The engineer will program and integrate ABB and Fanuc robots used to assemble satellites and own robotic cells end-to-end, from path planning and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) integration through commissioning and cycle-time optimization. This hands-on role will establish and support the robotics function as the team scales. The position is based at E-Space’s Arlington, Texas facility and reports to the Manufacturing Engineering leadership team. The role involves deploying robots for assembly, pick-and-place, and material-handling applications; integrating robotics with controls, vision systems, sensors, and tooling; and supporting production cells on the manufacturing floor. The engineer will also mentor junior robotics engineers and establish programming standards. The position is full-time and exempt. Extra hours, including nights and weekends, may be needed to meet critical deadlines and mission goals.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience programming and integrating industrial robots in production, using ABB and/or Fanuc.
  • Hands-on experience with robot cell design, EOAT integration, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with machine vision, sensors, pneumatics, and safety systems.
  • Understanding of robotics integration with PLC/motion control.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on live production equipment.
  • BS in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Both ABB and Fanuc programming experience.
  • Offline programming or simulation experience, such as RobotStudio or Roboguide.
  • Machine-vision and force-control integration experience.
  • Aerospace, PV/solar, or thin-film manufacturing background.
  • Beckhoff PLC/motion-control experience.

Responsibilities

  • Program, simulate, and deploy ABB and Fanuc robots for assembly, pick-and-place, and material-handling applications.
  • Own robotic cells from concept through commissioning, including path planning, EOAT integration, and safety.
  • Optimize cycle time, reliability, and throughput of production robotic cells.
  • Integrate robots with Beckhoff controls, vision systems, sensors, and end-of-arm tooling.
  • Develop and maintain robot programs, frames, and tooling calibrations.
  • Lead on-floor commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover of production cells.
  • Mentor junior robotics engineers and set programming standards.

Benefits

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Support and investment in the physical, emotional, and financial well-being of team members and their families.
