About The Position

Relativity Space is hiring a Robotics Automation & Controls Engineer to help lead the technical direction of a growing team expanding automation across its manufacturing organization. The role supports robotic systems already operating in production and the design and construction of permanent factory infrastructure. The engineer will partner with mechanical, manufacturing, and design engineers to develop solutions for varied applications and processes. The Factory Automation and Controls Engineering team works across design, manufacturing, and automation. Embedded in the Tooling organization, the team develops hardware and automated systems that support Terran R production, from deployable sensor packages to large-scale robotics. The position offers autonomy to make decisions, field solutions, and see work implemented on the factory floor. Potential projects include designing and implementing robotic systems for welding, fabrication, material handling, and component inspection; supporting existing systems through production simulation, offline programming, and deployment; and architecting factory automation solutions to improve manufacturing speed, quality, reliability, and efficiency.
