Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Transportation/Roadway Project Engineer in our growing Richmond, VA office. The successful candidate will work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public and private sector clients. Transportation projects will include interchanges, roadway widenings, roundabout design, bridge projects, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations and preparation of contract documents; primarily for Caltrans and public agencies. Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • VA PE license, or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation engineering.
  • Proficient with Microstation.
  • Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient with AutoCAD.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.
  • Manage projects including interchanges, roadway widenings, roundabout design, bridge projects, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations and preparation of contract documents; primarily for Caltrans and public agencies.
  • Handle horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, storm water management, traffic studies, utility relocations, development of maintenance of traffic plans, and preparation of contract documents.
  • Be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused.
  • Handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and county/agency review staff.
  • Compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication.
