About The Position

Parsons is now hiring a Senior Roadway Engineer to join their Sandy Springs office to support major regional transportation infrastructure projects. This role is part of the Critical Infrastructure team, which has been designing and delivering critical infrastructure for over 80 years. The team works in collaborative groups, both internally and with partners and clients, to plan, design, build, and modernize infrastructure. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • 8+ years of experience in roadway design engineering
  • Solid roadway geometric design background with proficiency in roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads).
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards and guidelines.
  • Intermediate skills with Excel (macros, equations)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.
