WRA is currently seeking a senior level Roadway Engineer with a strong technical background to support the growth of our practice in Northern Virginia (Fairfax Office).
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required
- Minimum of 16 years of relevant job experience related to highway engineering including experience with VDOT
- Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple assignments
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD preferred
Responsibilities
- Planning and design of assigned projects by supervising the design efforts of junior engineers and coordinating with other design disciplines to develop project deliverables.
- Managing the development of the project including coordination with client and subconsultants.
- Design of horizontal and vertical alignments.
- Development of roadway plans and profiles.
- Roadside evaluation and design.
- Maintenance of traffic design.
- Preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates.
- Development of technical reports.
