About The Position

Consor is seeking a Senior Roadway Design Engineer / Project Engineer to provide technical leadership on roadway and highway projects throughout Arizona. This role is ideal for an experienced transportation professional looking to lead project delivery, mentor staff, and help grow a successful transportation practice. This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of roadway and transportation engineering experience.
  • Experience delivering projects for ADOT, counties, or municipalities.
  • Knowledge of AASHTO and ADOT design standards.
  • Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Significant ADOT project delivery experience.
  • Experience leading freeway, interchange, corridor, reconstruction, or transportation improvement projects.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proposal development and business development experience.
  • Existing relationships with Arizona transportation clients or agencies.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical teams.
  • Interest in advancing into Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, or transportation leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead roadway design for highways, arterials, interchanges, corridors, and multimodal facilities.
  • Oversee preparation of plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Mentor engineers and designers.
  • Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and client communications.
  • Participate in proposals, project pursuits, and business development efforts.
