As a Senior Risk Associate at Capital One you’ll be responsible for working with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks to Capital One. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and have the opportunity to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. The Issues and Events Program team supports the Global Payments Network Risk and Advisory organization. Our team is made up of passionate and dynamic risk professionals focused on enhancing the risk profile for the Discover, Pulse and Diners Club International businesses through execution of mission-critical risk management programs. We are seeking an inquisitive and organized team player to join us as an Senior Risk Associate. As part of the horizontal 1st Line risk management function, this associate will have the unique opportunity to become a subject matter expert in the processes, controls and problems across the network organization. Day-to-day, this associate will be performing certain quality assurance and reporting activities while providing support and guidance to risk management professionals to ensure problem documentation is in adherence to enterprise standards. The other primary functions of the team for GPN Risk and Advisory organization includes governance and support for event and issue management and first line compliance monitoring. This position partners with 1st and 2nd lines of defense for the governance and oversight of events and issue management. This will include consultation and supporting implementation of methodology changes.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or Military Experience
  • At least 1 year of Risk Management experience
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
  • At least 1 year of Google Suite experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • 2+ years of experience in Governance or Risk Management
  • 2+ years of experience in Change Management

Responsibilities

  • Build partnerships with multiple first and second line teams and recognized as subject matter expert for event and issue governance
  • Participates in defining the methodology and problem management process to show adherence of enterprise standard requirements
  • Be recognized as the subject matter expert on the team for event, and issue governance
  • Assist with the Pre-closure quality review process of event and issues for closure
  • Identify key areas of opportunity and trends
  • Tracking and updating process documentation
  • Resolve or escalate impediments as needed
  • Support team with overall governance, reporting and change management
  • Assist with the creation and use of various reporting and program metrics for the broader team and senior leadership
