Raytheon’s Effector RF Design Department is responsible for designing RF and Microwave hardware, including transmitters, receivers, exciters, antennas, and radomes. This includes design and test activities that span preliminary design to integration. Products we develop support radar and datalink applications on a variety of tactical missile programs. This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
Experience with RF circuit card testing and troubleshooting
Experience with laboratory equipment including waveform generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and / or network analyzers
Experience preparing documentation, including test plans and test reports, with minimal oversight
Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Technical oversight responsibilities for less-senior engineers
Self-starter who’s capable of working independently as well as with a small technical team.
Providing technical oversight and direction, tracking & reporting, coordination, preparation of detailed technical team reports, and proposal support.
Technical background in the following areas: Testing Amplifiers, filters, mixers, VCOs, and Synthesizers
RF & Mixed signal circuit card assembly design and fabrication
Test plan creation and test report authoring

Responsibilities

Work in a lab to accomplish component and circuit card characterization, verification, and integration
Work with a multi-disciplined engineering team executing RF hardware testing and debugging of complex circuit card assemblies or electro-mechanical systems.
Test and handle sensitive RF Hardware
Train and mentor new hires in the lab
Test and troubleshoot circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals
Communicate technical information to a wide audience
