About The Position

STR is seeking a Senior RF Hardware Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of advanced multi-function RF systems. You will collaborate with fellow researchers and engineers on multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions in areas of focus including exploration and demonstration of Radar and EW/RF convergence. In this role, you will design and implement RF hardware with other senior Engineers for operationally relevant environments. This position will offer the opportunity for technical design, analysis, development, testing, and fielding of capabilities.

Requirements

  • Applicable knowledge of technical concepts related to RF systems and their principles of design, development, requirements verification, test planning, test execution, and data analysis.
  • Experience in delivery of advanced development hardware.
  • Capable of effectively working in a team environment, often under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in providing information for briefings and technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMS)
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of applicable experience; Master’s degree. Equivalent experience will be considered
  • U.S. citizenship is needed by U.S. Government to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: radar systems, electronic warfare, microwave engineering, analog and digital signal processing, embedded software development, physics modeling and simulation

Responsibilities

  • Support development of RF hardware systems through the development lifecycle, from system requirements definition through to delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and specifications as they relate to assigned tasking
  • Under guidance from senior staff, design and implement hardware designs and support assembly, integration, and testing.
  • Identify and select RF systems components (for example: active and passive devices, antennas, connectors, cables, physical enclosures, etc.)
  • Conduct supporting analyses to inform/justify decisions (e.g. RF link budgets)
  • Support assembly, initial operation, and check out of system (including definition of test plans)
