About The Position

The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for accurately and timely calculating revenue guarantees and true-ups, preparing all 85/15 remittances and invoices, calculating and posting monthly management fees, updating the SNAFF/FFS forecast and tracking actuals, preparing and posting subcash allocations, preparing and posting bad debt allocations for Capio, performing reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts, and providing information to the Financial Planning & Analysis and Operations teams. This position can be performed from anywhere within the United States, requiring reliable internet access and the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment. Occasional work site attendance may be required based on business conditions. The role ensures compliance with applicable policies and reviews contracts to ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with GAAP. Key functions include recording and reconciling patient and hospital revenue entries, collaborating with the Billings Specialist to ensure accurate and timely invoicing according to client contracts, assisting the Revenue Accounting Manager with journal entries and reconciliations, and supporting the Vice President of Revenue with revenue-related analyses and projects. The position also involves promoting NorthStar Anesthesia’s Core Values, demonstrating regular and reliable attendance, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-5 years of accounting background
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills is required
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and ability to do accounting research to find solutions for accounting issues.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager/supervisor to accomplish objectives.
  • Customer service oriented mind-set
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Skills – required
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven, self-motivated, highly organized
  • Ability to complete recurring reports, write business reports, compose memos/letters, write reports, summaries or work/projects

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required
  • An understanding of contracts and the healthcare revenue cycle is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Great Plains is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate revenue guarantees and true-ups accurately and timely.
  • Prepare all 85/15 remittances and invoices.

  • Work with and assist the Revenue Accounting Manager with all their job responsibilities including recording of journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist Vice President of Revenue with all patient and hospital revenue related analyses and projects.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Revenue Accounting Manager or Vice President of Revenue.
