About The Position

The Retirement Plan Senior Advisor Consultant serves as lead advisor for a book of retirement plan business, with full accountability for implementation and execution of the consulting service model. This role requires expert-level knowledge, proven business development capabilities, and strong leadership skills. The Senior Advisor acts autonomously on most decisions, provides guidance on complex fiduciary matters, and applies experienced-based judgment to resolve sophisticated plan design and governance issues.

Requirements

  • 10 years of progressive experience in retirement plan consulting and fiduciary advisory
  • In-depth knowledge of the retirement plan industry, products and services, and competitive landscape
  • Proven track record managing complex, high-value plan relationships
  • Demonstrated business development success with consistent new client acquisition
  • Expert in fiduciary best practices, investment due diligence, and plan governance
  • Excellent executive presence with strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • FINRA Series 6, 63, and 65 licenses required
  • 10+ years of relationship management or client service experience, preferably within the retirement/401(k) industry

Nice To Haves

  • AIF (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) credential preferred
  • Additional credentials highly valued: CPFA, QPA, CFA, or CFP

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead advisor for an assigned book of retirement plan business
  • Drive implementation and execution of the firm’s retirement plan consulting service model
  • Build relationships with HR executives, CFOs, and board-level decision-makers at plan sponsor organizations
  • Lead complex fiduciary discussions including investment policy development, fee benchmarking, and governance structures
  • Advise on sophisticated plan design including cash balance plans, nonqualified deferred compensation, and executive benefits
  • Use experienced-based judgment to resolve service and policy issues requiring nuanced analysis
  • Drive business development through strategic COI relationships, thought leadership, and targeted prospecting
  • Lead finalist presentations and RFP responses for prospective clients
  • Collaborate with client service teams, education specialists, and investment analysts to deliver integrated solutions
  • Represent the firm in industry forums, conferences, and professional associations
  • Ensure all advice meets the highest fiduciary and regulatory standards
