About The Position

The Senior Residential Advisor provides a safe, supportive, and predictable environment through dormitory supervision of Job Corps students in their daily activities. This role involves monitoring student progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives, utilizing behavior management strategies, and conducting dormitory operations in accordance with Center and company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Follow all integrity guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure no manipulation of student data.
  • Provide leadership in independent living areas.
  • Ensure staff members meet standards and expectations.
  • Ensure the Center Independent Living program delivers quality services.
  • Develop and implement training plans for staff.
  • Provide and document staff training.
  • Oversee Center operations during weekends, midnight shifts, and other hours not managed by a manager or director.
  • Oversee Independent Living areas in the absence of department manager.
  • Create an environment where positive employment behaviors are the standard.
  • Provide support for an active and effective dorm leadership program.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of the continuing education program.
  • Operate dormitory area, coordinate services, conduct counseling and resolve problems.
  • Assist students in their daily living needs.
  • Manage all student incidents to protect all individuals from harm.
  • Ensure individual meetings with students address issues and establish plans to resolve problems.
  • Notify other staff to coordinate services.
  • Document actions in student files.
  • Provide guidance and assistance for daily living in group setting.
  • Maintain student files and dormitory areas.
  • Ensure student files present an up-to-date history of services provided.
  • Make regular entries in dorm logs and other necessary documents.
  • Ensure residences are attractive, clean, safe, and in good repair.
  • Ensure dormitory inspections meet or exceed expectations consistently.
  • Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Document relevant information in dorm logs as events occur.
  • Transmit information from each shift to the next.
  • Provide student with Independent Living program training and other Career Success Standards training.
  • Develop and implement training to ensure student successful knowledge and application of Independent Living and Career Success Standards.
  • Provide individual and group lessons or project assignments.
  • Ensure evaluations (ESPs) are completed for students at least every 60 days and/or as special evaluations as requested.
  • Ensure that goals are established and implement a plan so that they meet or exceed goals and expectations.
  • Ensure student accountability information is submitted accurately and within established time frames.
  • Monitor student accountability to include leaves, attendance and AWOL retrievals.
  • Maintain contact with all student who are in AWOL status and make every attempt to retrieve them from this status.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement training plans for staff, provide and document training, and meet with the Independent Living Manager to provide feedback.
  • Oversee Center operations as the Senior Residential Advisor during weekends, midnight shifts, and other hours not managed by a manager or director.
  • Oversee Independent Living areas in the absence of the department manager.
  • Create an environment where positive employment behaviors are the standard through active staff and student supervision.
  • Provide support for an active and effective dorm leadership program, including a training program.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of the continuing education program.
  • Operate dormitory areas, coordinate services, conduct counseling, resolve problems, and assist students with daily living needs.
  • Manage all student incidents to protect individuals from harm, ensuring individual meetings with students address issues and establish resolution plans.
  • Notify other staff to coordinate services via memo, phone, or personal conversation, documenting these actions in student files.
  • Provide guidance and assistance for daily living in a group setting.
  • Maintain student files (electronic and hard copies) to present an up-to-date history of services provided, ensuring students meet long- and short-term goals.
  • Make regular entries in dorm logs and other necessary documents to indicate dorm conditions during rounds.
  • Ensure residences are attractive, clean, safe, and in good repair, consistently meeting or exceeding expectations in dormitory inspections.
  • Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner to maintain furniture and equipment in good repair.
  • Document relevant information in dorm logs as events occur and transmit information from each shift to the next.
  • Provide students with Independent Living program training and other Career Success Standards training.
  • Develop and implement training to ensure student knowledge and application of Independent Living and Career Success Standards.
  • Provide individual and group lessons or project assignments after the training day and on weekends to help students master competencies in all standards, with clearly established performance levels.
  • Ensure evaluations (ESPs) are completed for students at least every 60 days and/or as special evaluations are requested.
  • Ensure goals are established and implement a plan for students to meet or exceed goals and expectations.
  • Ensure student accountability information is submitted accurately and within established time frames.
  • Monitor student accountability, including leaves, attendance, and AWOL retrievals.
  • Maintain contact with all students in AWOL status and make every attempt to retrieve them from this status.
