About The Position

Be part of an eight-person team where reserving insights directly influence underwriting strategy at a Swiss-regulated global reinsurer. You will lead deep-dive analyses, enhance our reserving processes, and communicate with senior stakeholders. The role will initially focus on US P&C, with opportunities to expand into other classes and regions over time.

Requirements

  • 2 – 6 years of experience in a quantitative, preferably actuarial, field
  • Strong technical and data-handling skills
  • programming skills (in particular Python and SQL) a plus
  • Educational background in mathematics, natural science or any another quantitative discipline
  • Numerate and analytical mind-set, good problem solver; strong aptitude for appropriately applying professional judgement
  • Good communicator, keen to liaise with other functions providing valuable model input and/or receiving model output
  • Excellent written skills
  • Team spirit, collaborative attitude, work ethic, proactive

Responsibilities

  • Play an important role in the quarterly reserving process, calculating reserves and preparing reports and management information for internal stakeholders.
  • Support deep dives on complex classes, refining methods and assumptions.
  • Automate and streamline workflows in Python and enhance existing Excel tools.
  • Present results to Underwriting and Finance, turning technical findings into business decisions.
  • Challenge data and assumptions with a curious mindset to sharpen accuracy and insight.
