About The Position
Texas A&M AgriLife is comprised of the following Texas A&M University System members: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Forest Service, Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Eight years of related experience.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Responsibilities
- Design, perform and analyze experiments to study the structure/function relationships of assigned proteins from Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other organisms.
- Cloning and expression of proteins of interest.
- Purification of proteins in sufficient quantity to obtain crystals. Crystallization of proteins. Data collection and analysis.
- Preparing data for grant application.
- Monitoring and quality control of drug library. High-throughput drug screens. Assist with laboratory management of stocks, supplies and equipment.
- Communicating and conducting collaborations with pharmaceutical partners.
- Training students and other duties as required.
