As a Research Scientist on the Graph Neural Network (GNN) team within OMEGA, you will pioneer research at the intersection of deep learning, structured data, and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will invent neural architectures, graph encoders, and agentic retrieval methods that bring relational reasoning to foundation models at massive scale. You will collaborate with partners across Google Research, Google DeepMind, and core product teams to translate theoretical breakthroughs into production-grade frameworks and next-generation AI capabilities. The GNN team bridges relational structure and deep learning, enabling graph-structured data to be integrated into neural networks and foundation models at massive scale. The team conducts fundamental research and builds production-grade frameworks to train and deploy models over complex, heterogeneous graphs. Its generative AI work includes structured data encoders, graph tokens, hybrid graph-sequence architectures, and graph-based retrieval and agentic systems to enhance LLMs. Google Research builds intelligent systems for Google products, using current computer science techniques and collaborating with teams across Google. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The stated US compensation is $174,000β$252,000, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
