About The Position

This is a position for Senior Research Investigator, with a purpose to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental and neuropsychiatric disorders using model systems such as human iPSCs and mouse models. The primary function of this position includes functional characterization of disorder-related genetic variants using cutting-edge molecular, cellular, genetic and genomic approaches, such as single cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics, confocal microscopy and bioinformatics. Other duties include hiPSC differentiation and maintenance, supporting research of multiple lab members, grant applications and manuscripts.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanistic characterization of hiPSC models using single cell genomics
  • Functional characterization of brain organoids and mouse models using spatial transcriptomics
  • Bioinformatic analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data
  • Confocal microscopic analysis of neuronal connectivity in hiPSC and mouse models
  • Differentiation and maintenance of hiPSCs
  • Supporting laboratory research of other lab members
  • Assistance in preparing grant applications and manuscripts
  • Participate in lab meetings, journal club; attend relevant seminars and conferences and other lab duties
