GE Vernova is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to advance modeling, control, and optimization technologies for its energy portfolio, including renewables, gas power, grid solutions, and power conversion. The role combines research with practical engineering applications, developing algorithms and systems that can move from the lab into products for utilities and grid operators. It is a senior individual-contributor position with team leadership responsibilities, embedded in GE Vernova’s research organization and connected to partners in industry, academia, and U.S. government agencies, including DOE and DOD. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to research in advanced controls, optimization, estimation, and detection; validate solutions through simulation and hands-on testing; and document results through patents, publications, and technical reports. The role also transfers mature technologies to engineering teams, tracks emerging systems-technology developments, and collaborates across GE Research, GE Vernova business units, and external partners. A Top Secret security clearance and legal authorization to work in the United States are required. GE Vernova cannot sponsor employment visas for Master's-level candidates for this opening. Candidates subject to restrictions under U.S. export control laws may be ineligible unless they meet the stated exception for U.S. person status or subsequent citizenship from a non-embargoed country. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The role involves a client’s critical infrastructure and shortlisted candidates are subject to heightened security checks.
