The University of Notre Dame is seeking a Senior Research Associate with deep expertise in character education, virtue development, and higher education to join the Virtues & Vocations team at the Institute for Social Concerns. Virtues & Vocations is a national social movement focused on cultivating character across professions, understanding that professional excellence requires both competence and character. The team engages in various activities including faculty workshops, an annual conference, monthly webinars, a bi-annual magazine, an annual academic journal, and a soon-to-be-launched web-based resource hub. The Senior Research Associate will be a key contributor to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team, focusing on the development and implementation of the Integrating Virtue Together program. This involves designing, delivering, and evaluating workshops for faculty nationwide, providing high-touch support for course redesign, and supporting the alumni network. The role also includes translating the IVT framework for the web platform, providing editorial support for publications, and writing feature articles and case studies. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple projects independently and collaboratively, enhancing the Institute's programs through research and best practices. Strong experience in writing and virtue pedagogy is essential. This is a five-year, limited-term position, renewable contingent upon funding.
