About The Position

Mirai Bio is seeking a Senior Research Associate, Histology contractor to join the Platform Group. This role will support laboratory research activities towards the development of novel technologies enabling next-generation genomic medicines. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of laboratory technical and equipment needs, along with significant hands-on experience in standard histology, cell culturing, and in vitro cell biology techniques. They will be expected to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related scientific discipline
• BS + 5 years of relevant industry or research experience
• MS + 3 years of relevant industry or research experience
• Previous experience with histology evaluation and in vitro cell based assays is required
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Motivated, curious, and comfortable working with highly technical projects and personnel
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner

Nice To Haves

• Strong cell culture experience, including experience executing protocols, troubleshooting assays is preferred
• Prior experience working with lipid nanoparticles is a plus
• Proven ability to work independently and cross-functionally with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical environment

Responsibilities

• Performing laboratory assays and tasks including processing tissues for histology, plate-based reporter assays and additional in vitro assays
• Review data slides to streamline optimization and data analysis of immune histochemistry and immuno fluorescence readouts
• Help manage external vendors and CRO in support of histology assays
• Developing new assays or optimizing existing ones based on in-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques.
• Analyzing and accurately documenting assay results in an electronic lab notebook or other technical reporting formats
